I grew up in a small town called Indian Trail, North Carolina on the outskirts of Charlotte.  I was raised by a hardworking family; my father from New Jersey and my mother a first-generation immigrant from Ecuador. Because they taught my sister and me the value of hard work, I grew up following their model. As a kid, I spent my time playing soccer, baseball, hunting, and fishing. As I grew older and entered high school my priorities shifted in my off time to working minimum-wage jobs and playing paintball.

I attended college at UNC Charlotte where I participated in the Army ROTC program. Upon graduation, I commissioned as a Field Artillery officer. When I first entered military service as a young officer fresh out of college, I was stationed at Fort Hood and far away from my roots. Dreaming about the future, I chose Belton, Texas as the place I wanted to live one day. Since I love spending time outdoors in nature, the area close to the lake with outdoor activities captured my attention. Not knowing what my future would bring, I never thought I would actually settle down here and raise my family after completing service.

If there is anything I have gotten right in life, then it is definitely asking Michelle to marry me. She is the rock in our marriage and household. Everyone loves mama! We love Belton and Texas and look forward to making memories as a family in this beautiful city.
